Richard Mille at SIHH 2013. A room of wonders for the WIS!
Jan 21, 2013,02:40 AM
It often amazes me that as the goliaths of the industry tout that they have 2 or 3 new models and its taken years of research blah blah blah, that Richard manages every year to eclipse them all.
I have to confess that I am somewhat jaundiced on the watch industry. A few stand out from the mire, but none shine as much as Don Riccardo! Every damn year, a new wonder that (or this year 3 wonders) that stop the show. I have to hand it to him!!!
So, live from SIHH some brief photos of the watches that will knock your WIS socks off!
The new RM056-1…. And you thought that last years crystal watch was a wonder. This one has all bridges and plates in crystal as well. Just stunning.
The new Yohan Blake – very funky and very wearable on the wrist.
And the new RM053 skull. So very life and death, so very Damien Hirst, and so very funky. A real work of art on the wrist. I am told that you can personalize the diamonds (say black diamonds for the teeth!) and hence, this can be your own personal art statement.
Finally, a couple of new limited editions for RM EMEA. An all black RM055:
And a ‘so flash’ RM028.
More to come later!

Funny Algae/salad-made YBlake RM

The RM056 with more sapphire parts must be something highly technical indeed. For the rest, evolutions only of existing models. Yest, the Jean Todt is still the novelty that pleases me most. But as you said, wait and see for what's next! Thanks for this e...

I barely believe that my technical dream one year ago came true !!!

There was one thing I dreamt about, I even tried to imagine it. And now it's a reality... wow... The cable system to hold the movement , and it is in the new RM027 !!!! amp;fi=18&pi=5148718&ti=772643&msid=&s= I am no guy at RM, I have no f...

I'm curious to know what are the Forces applied on these elements, must be interesting. Cheers, Mark
27-01 video of movement
By: milenium : January 23rd, 2013-08:35
I hope at some point RM releases a video showing the 27-01 movement in slow motion video capture to see how much the movement can actually move within the case. That would be really interesting and fascinating to see!
Suspended?
By: cory : January 23rd, 2013-11:36
Is the movement completely suspended in space and held by the cables? Also, does the movement float and move within the space if one moves the wrist? I would love to see a more in depth video on this.... what is the overall impression of the aesthetics of...
Yes I suppose so
By: cisco : January 24th, 2013-00:56
Yes it should be mainly floating. If you have an "in line" architexture like in a corum bridge with a chassis you can start of thinking of making it completely floating. When I try to think of that system one year ago, my biggest concern was how to mount ...
