Very disappointed RM owner UPDATE Sep 2014 Returned

I am hereby posting this thread due to my disappointment with the way RM has treated me.  In fact, I have informed the local AD that I want to post my disppointment online and he actually said please go ahead.

I have been a fan of RM since a long time.  Saved a lot of money to buy the watches.  I've had RM10, RM11 Ti, RM 11 Carbon and finally RM 4.  My complaint is regarding my RM 4.  My holy grail RM watch.

It started like this.  I was wearing it during my Christmas holidays in the US and to my horror found one of the pushers had dropped off.  I couldn't recall hitting anything (As I am a careful wearer) and was very surprised to say the least.  And I couldn't find the pusher.  In any case, I wrapped it in a piece of cloth and a watch pouch thereafter.  On returning to Asia, I sent it to a local AD to repair the watch.  The local AD said that they had to send it to Switzerland as they do not have the knowledge to repair RM 4.  So after a few weeks, they recommended me to also service the watch as it was "not" performing perfectly.  I argued with the local AD that I only wanted the repair but they insisted that I should service it.  And stupidly, I gave in.  The total costs of the repair and service was quoted at SGD 15K (FYI a Rolex Daytona SS costs less than 15K).  It was an exorbitant sum but I felt that I need it to be repaired ASAP and so was unwilling to postpone it.  In any case, that was already a few months into 2014 before we knew it.  After a few months passed, I called the local AD to ask about the status because I had not been informed of anything ever since I confirmed to repair and service the watch.  I complained to them that they had charged me so expensively and they still couldn't give me a good service of telling me the status of the watch and such information.  After telling off the local manager, he sent me a text to my phone stating that my watch would be ready before July 28th (A good 6 months after I put it in).  I went into the shop today to make sure that my watch would be ready as I have to prepare the SGD 15k to pay them in cash.  To my aghast, they said that it seems that it will be delayed again to some time in September.  They claimed that the watch had failed QC twice after they serviced or repaired it and have to back the third time.  I am telling this to vent my frustration on stupid excuses and the arrogance of Swiss watch companies.  On one hand, they peddle us with so called high quality this and that.  On the other hand, they are telling me that they cannot repair or service their own creation.  I was so pissed that I told them to tell RM to stop making and selling complicated watches if they cannot do the after sales servicing.  Or at least put a warning to every potential buyer that servicing and/or repair is so costly, time consuming and irritating to say the least.  I don't know how many of you guys experienced this but this is really going over board.  I really hope that RM can improve their service and professionalism.  If not, I think that people like me who works hard to save money to buy these kind of watches will stop.  As for me, I think this RM 4 will no longer be my holy grail RM watch,  It will be my last,

The reason the service always takes so long is because watchmakers at those companies are busy pumping out new watches. The availability of skilled labor are limited, so watch companies have to allocate them carefully, and watch service is usually an afte...

Doesn't massively surprise me. I am sure it's not reflective of RM as a whole but you find this in large luxury companies they begin to feel you are interchangeable and can just find another sale elsewhere if you leave... Hope it all sorts itself out and ...
