Richard Mille Warranty Issues HELP!

Jul 23, 2014,07:30 AM

Hi guys, so recently my RM010 is having issues with its power reserve, and the watch slows down, which I believe it needs to be service for the first time (overhaul&oiling).

I bring the watch to my local Richard Mille's AD in Indonesia, and they insisted me to ship the watch to the nearest Service Centre in Singapore, since it is still under warranty. So I drop my watch right away to them, to let them handle the issues.

About two or three days later, they called me and told me that there will be likely charges upon servicing my RM010 (couple grand). They told me that my warranty is not valid, since there is no address stated in the warranty form. However, it does have an area code (e.g. "F10") stated where it was purchased, and it is also dated accordingly. I asked them to try to help me to track down where it was purchased, but they deny it since it was not purchased in ASIA. I am really upset that I need to pay additional charges for servicing my RM, when its still under warranty. Specially to know that servicing costs for RM is tends to be very pricy.

For more info upon where the watch was purchased, I bought it off from a local guy in my home country. I tried to call him, but he didn't respond to my phone call. Actually I just bought the RM010 for less than a week, and I notice that there were issues with its power reserves. I am just upset, since I admire Richard Mille for quite a long time, and now as I get the opportunity to acquired one, this things happened. I am totally considering to sell the watch after service, because I am really scared that these kind of things will likely occur some other time.

My concern is that, does anyone ever have the exact same issue as mine? do you get this problem solved? if so, please help me how sad.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Thank you for your time.

I had problem with the self-wind on my 30 and one of my 28s. HK Boutique sorted both out after a bit of shouting and screaming. At one point they said 5 months for the 28 as they said they didn't have the tools to handle a 28 case in HK (ridiculous I know...

Sorry I forgot to add......

......are you saying the dealer name and location was not recorded on the warranty card? And if so, that is why they were refusing a warranty claim? They have become very strict on this given the number of forged certificates and indeed watches that have ...

Screaming and Shouting?? OMG.. That's not good for business especially when they are selling something so exclusive. So sorry to hear this Roger... Hope they are all fixed now. Personally this will certainly make me press the "flush" button! Hahaha... HAG...

If the warranty card/papers have no dealer

authorised address or stamp, then as with any other brand, the dealer won't help. Brands (any brand) maintains and endorses their dealer network for very obvious reasons: authenticity, quality control, and time since purchase. Authorized dealers are there...

Thank you for all the responses

Thanks for all the responses guys, it is much much appreciated. I am just frustrated and I didn't know that it would end up like this. On the other hand, I honestly did not notice that it has to have an Authorized Dealer location and address, I thought th...

Unfortunate.

Unfortunate for sure, but hopefully you will get it back with a new lease of life fairly soon, and the bill will not be too high. Hopefully it will not tarnish your view of the brand too much.

Sorry to hear about your RM10. I do hope your watch gets back to you soon. Could I suggest you go to the official RM web page and have a look at the opening warning notice. Again I do hope you get your watch back soon.

Thumbs up for RM SC

Hi guys, so I recently got an email from Singapore RM Service Centre, and they told me that my time piece will be serviced under warranty. It will takes 16 weeks for the servicing time. I hope to collect my time piece as soon as it reaches its accreditati...

I suppose this is why people still buy direct from boutiques. I do feel you've treated RM a little unfairly in this matter though. I'm sure you had good reason to not buy direct from the boutique, but by doing so you're fully liable in making sure all the...

Agree!

All the other respondents have echoed my sentiment. For every servicing horror story, I'd much rather read about Richard Mille acting on good will in a marginal case to assuage your feelings of buyer's remorse.
