Here is most likely the possible truth

So if u guys google around, there is a pic of him having interviewed without the media, just a pic of himself (pic attached). That interview was quite a few weeks back, maybe 3 weeks. I did see this first pic of him wearing it in one of the local business magazines here. Even its far and not clear enough, I can guarantee thats a real one, either RM011 Black Kite or RM011 Asia Boutique edition, more to the Black Kite though. I'm a watch enthusiast btw and can spot if a watch is real or fake just buy looking at it and especially RM watches, they are impossible to be cloned like Rolex or AP. I mean look at it..the RM casing..the shape..it is a real one.

To add what RahulR has said, it is indeed true that most government officials here are corrupted and some are not careful enough to hide their wealth.

Then when all media started to come along, of course, to protect himself from being investigated on his personal wealth, he had to cover himself. As we all know fake RM watches are spreading around and coincidentally, they already make the fake RM011 Asia Boutique and online or local shops here selling it (these fakes are not bad, though u can still see its fake, but for some who don't know this brand, they just know its an RM regardless being real or fake). We all here are mostly sure that he bought the fake asia boutique version after all this media attention. So the pic above when he showed and banged the RM, that was already the fake one.

We are quite sure his is the Black Kite version, but the fake is the Asia Boutique version (because no good fake of Black Kite being made yet), but no one knows anyway, they just see a black watch and gold insert which look like the Black Kite.
