In any case - Rolex was the first to produce dive watches on a large scale. There are plenty of sub look-a-likes that one can buy at fraction of the price. Not saying that they should not exist but they are not real alternatives.
Richard Mille didn't invent the tonneau case, or the tourbillion or sapphire cases etc. Doesn't matter. It was the first brand to create a whole market that didn't exist before.
Ultimately you should buy what you like. But the value in watches, as is the case with most luxury goods, is highly disconnected from the product itself. So I would be very careful with brands that provide "value for money" ...

Great final, the watch - not so sure ... With advances in manufacturing a lot can be done at a more accessible price point. But who did it first does matter.
